HP Photosmart Premium C310a is an all-in-one device that becomes a pared-down version of Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web and comes with similar features such as a bright 4.3” touchscreen control panel. Besides, this printer provides ePrint email access as well as wireless internet used to access downloadable content from Hewlett-Packard’s ePrintCenter.
Design
This model is a drastic departure from the previous HP printers. It is designed with new streamlined flair & rounded edges all around. It also has smooth lines & black finish exude executive appeal & complement the 4.33” touch screen set in the console center. The main focal point is the display.
Features
You’ll also find a small ePrint wireless LCD that blinks to notify you of connection status. It is also equipped with a small media card reader on the lower left side. Unlike its higher-end linemate, this mode misses a PictBridge-compatible USB port for direct photo imports.
Moving to the rear, you’ll find removable auto-duplexer allowing you to save money. That also helps out the environment by printing on both sides of papers. Sadly, C310a lacks an ADF. It means you should load each individual document manually into the scanner.
The input feeder of HP Photosmart Premium C310a has 2 separate trays: 1 for up to 20 sheets of 4×6” photo paper & 1 underneath for 100 sheets of 8.5×11” letter-size paper. Then, there’s a small plastic arm that extends out from the tray to corral outbound prints. C310a handles the paper very well.
The touch screen comes in 4.3 inches. It can be adjusted up & down to find your desired viewing angle. The first thing you will see when this printer is on is its home screen where it shows scrollable icons for your favorite apps with 4 shortcut buttons for photo prints, scan, copy & fax.
Performance
The print speed through the wired USB connection is pretty impressive where it can print up to 12.51 ppm. The output quality is also pleasing where it delivers standard for sharp, clear photo & text prints. Besides, text quality is suitable for professional documents.
This printer uses 5 standard HP-model no. 564 ink cartridges for yellow, magenta, cyan, photo black, and black. Each of them has its own dedicated slot. A page of color costs around 2.4 cents & a page of black costs double at about 4.3 cents.
Overall, HP Photosmart Premium C310a offers competitive output & print quality as well as ePrint wireless access, making it suitable for professional printing jobs.
