Is your Epson ES-400 driver unavailable? The printer driver is very important. It is the bridge that connects hardware and software and allows the user to give instructions to the printer.
The problem is that sooner or later we will encounter an issue with it. One of the problems is an unavailable driver. We will show you how to deal with it.
Uninstalling the Printer
If your driver printer is unavailable, you can try to uninstall and then reinstalling the printer. Most of the time, this should fix the issue immediately.
Just go to Control Panel and then Devices and Printers. You should see the printer(s) there. Choose the problematic printer and right-click and choose to remove the device.
After removing the printer, go to the Control Panel again. This time, select Programs. You can also use a shortcut: press the Windows key and R then type ‘appwiz.cpl’ and you should land on the same window.
The next thing to do is to uninstall all of the printer’s software and application. Be sure to do this process thoroughly.
When it is done, disconnect the printer from the computer, shut it down and leave it for about 10 minutes. Next, start the computer and reconnect the printer.
The computer should automatically detect the printer and install the drivers. Make this printer as the default printer and put it to a test to see if the problem is solved.
Updating the Driver Manually
Let’s say that uninstalling the printer like the above doesn’t work. What can you do to fix the unavailable printer driver? Well, you can try to update your Epson ES-400 driver manually.
First, you need to download the driver from Epson’s official website. Make sure that your internet connection is stable and let the download process finish before proceeding.
Windows has the feature to update the drivers, including printer drivers, automatically. However, sometimes this feature doesn’t work as it is intended.
In such cases, you have to update the driver manually yourself. Just go to the Device Manager, right-click the driver and choose update. Choose to browse the computer for the update and let it install automatically.
