HP OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format is one of the most popular choices when it comes to a printer for printing big official documents. This printer is well known with its slim body and decent speed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer built-in wireless and additional functionality. For more information, let’s take a look closer at the following review!
Design
This machine is surprising for an A3 model, due to its size. Measuring at 57.4cm x 40.2cm x 18.1cm only, it can accommodate A3 printing. This slim body makes OfficeJet 7000 space-saving. So, you can easily place it at any space. For the construction, it is made from cheap glossy black plastic.
Features
This printer uses a 4-ink tank solution (yellow, magenta, cyan, and black) with easy insertion as well as ink level tracking from the supplied driver app. For your information, the supplied paper tray fits any size of paper. However, it is a one trick pony in this regard. Therefore, you cannot load up plain A4 & A3 photo paper at the same time, for example.
When it comes to print speed, HP OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format is rated at up to 33 ppm for draft. Sadly, it is rated down to 8 ppm for best quality.
Unfortunately, you’ll not find any type of wireless connectivity. Instead, it offers Ethernet or USB connectivity only.
Performance
Talking about speed, HP claims that this model can print up to 33 ppm. In draft mode, a single text page can be printed out in 11 seconds while the average is at 18 ppm. In normal coverage mode, it drops to 9 ppm. Still, it is slightly better than what HP claims for normal mode printing. Even more, it also gives crisp & clear text.
Then, on the photo front, it manages a 10cm x 15cm photo print in 40 seconds. The quality is fair but not impressive, with a slightly darker tone than we expect. Printing the same image up to A3 only adds 15 seconds to the print time. However, the photo quality is not superb.
Conclusion
It is clear that HP OfficeJet 7000 Wide Format is designed for marketing materials, not high-quality large-size photo proofs. You have to keep in mind that it has a slim body for an A3 printer. Besides that, it also delivers a decent speed on photo/color prints. The price can be different from one place to another.
