Brother MFC-J6535 belongs to the most popular color inkjet all-in-one printer from Brother. It offers low running costs. Besides that, it can also print excellent text. Sadly, its graphics & photos are below par. So, it can be a good alternative, especially if you want to keep your printing costs down.
Design & Features
This printer measures 12” x 22.6” x 18.8” and weighs 43.9 pounds. It is best kept on a bench or table of its own. Then, the standard paper capacity is up to 350 sheets. It includes a main tray that can hold 250 sheets and a bypass feeder that can hold extra 10 sheets. Both trays & feeder support printing at up to 11×17 (tabloid) size.
This printer comes with an auto-duplexer for printing on both paper sides. The maximum monthly duty cycle of the printer is up to 30,000 pages but the recommended print volume is for 2,000 pages.
MFC-J6535 features a legal-size flatbed for scanning & a 50-sheet ADF that supports simplex scanning only. On the front panel that tilts up for easy viewing, there’s a 3.7” color touch-screen display as well as a numeric keypad. Then, you’ll find a USB thumb drive.
Brother MFC-6535 can connect to a computer through a USB cable. It can also connect to a local network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. MFC-6535 can establish a direct peer-to-peer connection to a compatible mobile device through Wi-Fi Direct.
It also supports Google Cloud Print. It works with Brother iPrint&Scan app and Cortado Workplace. In addition, it is Air-Print- & Mopria-compliant, allowing you to print from mobile devices. You can also upload images to sites like Brother Cloud Apps, OneNote, Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Flicker, Google Docs, and Picasa Web Albums.
Printing Speed
When it comes to printing speed, this printer is rated at 16.9 ppm for text-only with a decent result. For black printing speed, it is rated at 35 ppm. Then, the first-page-out time is around 8 seconds. To print full business suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files, it is averagely rated at 11.5 ppm.
This printer is faster in printing the Word document where it is rated at 23.6 ppm. For printing photos, it is averagely rated 1 minutes & 25 seconds per 4×6 prints.
Output Quality
The output offered by Brother MFC-6535 is a mixed bag, with good text for an inkjet but slightly subpar photos & graphics. For most business purpose, text must be good enough. Besides, graphics are also good for most internal business use.
