Epson XP-830 Driver Windows, Mac, Manual Guide

Having a specific printer driver, like Epson XP-830 driver, for example, is not the only way to do things related to printers and printing.

There is another alternative: cloud driver. Cloud driver, while not being common yet, is gaining popularity. Now, let’s get to know both and what they offer to users.

Device Driver

A device driver is located on the computer. There are generic and specific printer drivers. The generic printer driver is usually built-in, while the specific printer driver has to be installed.

Between the two, the specific printer driver is used more often. It is also the better option most of the time as well. Let’s say your printer is Epson XP-830. With Epson XP-830 driver, you will be able to make use of all the features offered.

For example, print, scan, copy, fax, photo, and connectivity, among others. If your PC has the driver and is connected to the printer, you can enjoy these features both online and offline.

Cloud Driver

Contrary to the device driver, the cloud driver is on the ‘cloud.’ It is not located on the computer. Rather, it is on the internet. This means that the driver is accessible anywhere and is not bound to a certain printer as long as the computer and printer are connected to the internet.

Today, it is not that common, particularly in the office setting. However, as technology advances, more and more printers are accessible through the cloud driver.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the cloud driver will be widely available in the foreseeable future as it offers amazing flexibility. Since the driver is on the cloud, there is no need to install it. It is also not model-specific, meaning you can use the driver for just about any printer.

It works by delivering instructions via the cloud, which is why it requires an internet connection. As good as it is, the cloud driver does have its limitations. For example, since it is used for all printers, it might not allow you to make the best out of a printer.

You will also need an internet connection and registered accounts (both the user’s PC and the printer) for the cloud driver service too.

As technology advances, so does the cloud driver. However, while the cloud driver provides flexibility, it requires registered accounts (both the account for the cloud and the printer’s account) and internet connection.

Currently, it is not that common yet. On the other hand, device driver like Epson XP-830 driver doesn’t after it is installed and it offers so many features and customization.
